Personal Storytelling Workshops & Classes

Join our weekly storytelling course that will culminate in a live, onstage storytelling performance!

If you’re a fan of programs like The Moth or Stories from the Stage, this is your chance to learn how to craft storytellers like those performers do.

Each week, you'll dig into the craft and technique behind live personal storytelling: how to find your story's structure, build tension, land a moment, and leave an audience wanting more. You'll practice out loud and get personalized feedback every week.

You'll also build your confidence in your unique voice, learn how to tap into your innate creativity, and surprise yourself with just how many stories you have to tell.

WHAT YOU’LL GET FROM THIS CLASS:

  • Weekly personalized feedback from the instructor and your peers

  • Resources about the craft of storytelling to utilize beyond the end of this class

  • An opportunity to perform a story live onstage

  • A supportive community of peers who are also interested in creating connection through storytelling

WHO SHOULD SIGN UP?

If you’re interested about getting onstage to tell a story but feel nervous or think you don’t have a story to tell, this class is for you! Every class will be an opportunity to generate new stories you didn’t know you had in you. Seasoned writers and performers will also be able to grow their creative community while engaging in weekly creative practice.

Whether you’re in the midst of a job search and want to build confidence in sharing who you are, or if you’re someone who wants to get back in touch with their creativity, this class will help you build community as you prove to yourself every week that you have interesting perspectives to share.

Programs for seasoned storytellers and curious beginners alike.

All rooted in building community.

What to Expect

We don’t just throw you onstage in front of a bunch of people; instead, you’ll start by chatting one on one in small groups using prompts that will help you tap into your inner storyteller. You may surprise yourself with the stories you uncover! You’ll slowly work up to telling pieces of your story to a larger group.

❋ Intentional Structure

Storytelling is a connective art form, and community building is a core part of the process. You’ll have the chance to get to know other people in these storytelling classes so that you all feel comfortable sharing with each other.

❋ Collaboration & Community Building

Creatives, community builders, job seekers, storytelling enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to feel more confident while speaking, whether that's at a networking event or in front of an audience.
