What We Offer

  • Group of people participating in a team-building activity, with some in physical poses and others watching or guiding, in a room with wooden floors and walls, and a black chalkboard in the background.

    Improv for Social Connection

Think of these workshops as facilitated friend-making!

Making friends as an adult is hard — that’s why we created IRL in the first place. These laughter-filled workshops use improv games and personal storytelling exercises to help you cut through the small talk and start forming deep friendships that will last.

  • Open Stages

In 2026 we are launching Improv for Real Life’s Open Stage, an inclusive performance opportunity for anyone looking to get performance experience.

Hosted by Seattle-based improvisers Abbie Brasch and Annie Ex, these pay-what-you-can Open Stages offer an opportunity for you to get up on stage in front of a supportive audience.

Mark your calendars: our first Open Stage is happening on Friday, January 23 at 7pm!

  • Four women sitting on chairs and laughing in a room with colorful artwork on the wall.

    Improv for Senior Citizens

Improv can help combat social isolation and anxiety among our elders. Participating in improv encourages creativity and adaptive cognitive stimulation — plus, it’s just a great time!

Our classes for senior citizens emphasize creativity & learning at every age, are physically accessible, and help seniors build community.

We also offer specialized collaborative storytelling workshops designed for memory care patients that offer people with dementia opportunities to joyfully use their imaginations.

  • Group of people engaging in conversation at an indoor event, smiling and standing in a circle, with red curtains and other attendees in the background.

    Professional Development for Teachers

This engaging, experiential workshop designed specifically for teachers allows teachers to try the key tenets of the improv mindset themselves. This program helps teachers increase their instructional agility by learning to think on their feet, pivot gracefully in response to students' needs, and create more inclusive, responsive learning environments.

They will practice building on each other’s ideas, active listening, collaboration, and embracing uncertainty and be empowered to with activities they can use to implement those mindsets in their classrooms.

    Grown Up Drama Club

A weekly class series that will help you practice trusting in your creativity and flexing your imaginative muscles on a weekly basis.

In winter 2026, we will have Grown Up Drama Club classes on Tuesday nights and Thursday nights. Join us if you’d like to start a weekly creative ritual that will help you build your confidence as you find community.
