Improv for Social Connection Workshop in the U-District

  • University Heights Center 5031 University Way Northeast Seattle, WA, 98105 United States (map)

Our signature event! Learn how the improv mindset can help you build community, and play a bunch of silly games in the process.

Have you been to awkward networking events or happy hours where you've had the same surface-level conversation over and over? Improv for Real Life is NOT that.

At IRL, you'll play games that will have you laughing and having meaningful conversations that will lay the groundwork for new friendships.

Zero experience necessary!

Beginners are enthusiastically encouraged to attend! Being “good at improv” is not the point of this; instead, think of improv as being a means to an end, where friendship is the end goal. While we firmly believe that everyone is inherently creative, you don’t need to identify as a “creative type” to get a lot out of this workshop.

Logistics:

DATE & TIME: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 7:30pm-9pm.

DOORS OPEN at 7:15pm. The improv workshop will start at 7:30. Feel free to swing by starting at 7:15 to start getting to know the other folks in the workshop!

WHERE: UHeights Auditorium (top floor of UHeights Center, 5031 University Way NE)

DOOR CODE: 6085

UHeights is a historic building. It's therefore beautiful, but the doors can be sticky. If the door doesn't open on your first try, give it a second to recalibrate.

THE AUDITORIUM is located on the top floor of UHeights Center. When you enter the building, take any of the big, grand staircases all the way up and follow the signs to the Auditorium. Or take, the accessible elevator located just inside the southwest entrance (the door to the left of the playground).
